National Public Radio, one of my favorite radio podcasts, has unveiled a new FREE iPhone application which allows you live and on demand mobile streaming. As the launch will take place tonight for this new application, NPR expects a huge following with iPhone users.

NPR will not stop there, they already have apps on the way for Symbian and Android. Perhaps Palm Pre’s WebOS will be next? The long-term strategy for NPR is to obtain user sponsered financial support to it’s mobile app as it has for digital and radio: a combination of corporate underwriting, listener donations, grants, foundation support.

Also, the OS seems a whole lot faster even though the videographer states that this is not the latest OS release.
