Sprint Busts Out $70 Unlimited Mobile To Mobile + Data & Text Plan

sprint-logo-11Sprint’s announcement later today was leaked by a few sites and states that the new “Wireless Revolution” will be a $70 per month, unlimited mobile to mobile calling plan via any carrier. Data, Text and MMS messages are also included. The plan outlines 450 minutes with unlimited mobile to mobile as the key sales point. NO other carrier is doing anything close.

Rhapsody Streaming Music App Approved For iPhone and iPod Touch

RealNetworks Inc.’s subscription music service Rhapsody has been approved for use on iPhones and iPod Touches, the first time Apple Inc. has allowed an on-demand music streaming program on its devices in the United States. A first for Apple, a little competition doesn’t hurt and apparantly Apple agrees. Now Apple will allow the streaming music service to do-their-thing on the iPhone and iPod touch with this new app.

Feds To Embrace OpenID via Yahoo, Google, Paypal Accounts

The U.S. government pilot program will allow people to interact with various government websites using an OpenID or an Information Card, the nation’s information technology officer will announce Wednesday. These are two of the most popular emerging technologies that let web users manage their identities across multiple websites.

Under the new program, which will go into effect in the coming weeks, people will be able to sign in, request information, participate in forums and build user profiles on the government’s websites without having to set up a new user account. Anyone will be able to interact with the government sites using credentials provided to them by Yahoo, Google, AOL, VeriSign or PayPal, among others.

The pilot  is scheduled to be announced by the U.S. government CIO Vivek Kundra at the Gov 2.0 Summit in Washington, D.C., Wednesday morning.

Sprint Getting Ready To Drop Big News 9/10/2009?

sprint-premier-announcementIs Sprint getting ready to really launch something big? I wrote about the Palm Pixi and Palm Pre price drop earlier today over on PreThinking. But the place holder for a Sprint site called AnyMobile, that has us scratching our heads. Is Sprint announcing an open network of CDMA handsets on their network? Or are they opening up a mobile platform of their own? We’ll just have to wait to find out.

Android Gets Pandora and Official Facebook Apps

Today both Pandora and Facebook have announced official apps for the Android platform.  This will be a welcome news to most especially all the third-party Facebook applications for Android that have been used for quite some time. The Pandora app has been a long awaited application for Android users. Both are a welcome addition the Android app stable.

iPhone and iPod touch owners get iPhone OS 3.1; iTunes 9 with Social Networking

Apple announced OS 3.1 for both the iPhone and iPod touch. OS 3.1 is a free download and is available today.

The new iTunes will allow a multitude of things too such as Facebook and Twitter integration as well as the ability to organize your apps.

iTunes also offers over 30,000 ringtones, and they’ll be sold for a breakthrough price for ringtones, at $1.29.

Genius Mixe will allow you to plays endless mixes of songs from your library that go great together. “You just click on one of the mixes, and start playing it — and it will go on and on and on. It’s like a great radio station.” iTunes also added improved syncing. “The biggest thing we’re doing is allowing you to manage your apps in iTunes.” You can organize your applications as you see fit.

Homesharing is another feature of the new and improved iTunes. “Home sharing: we’re going to let you copy songs, TV shows, etc. with up to 5 computers in your house. You’re going to see all the computers you can share with, and you’ll see the contents — you’ll be able to drag that and copy it to your library.”

Several new games are announced like FPS called Nova, Riddim Ribbon and Madden NFL 2010.
