Exclusive: T-Mobile Takes On Verizon, AT&T and Sprint on 10/25; Full Pricing Breakdown
October 24, 2009 17 Comments
Not to be left out in the cold and more like setting the bar very high, T-Mobile has officially launched a price war with the three other major carriers Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. On Sunday October 25th, T-Mobile is launching it’s new Unlimited Plans. Starting at $59, $69 and $99 on contract with discounted (subsidized) handsets and $49, $59 and $79, off contract, regular priced handsets.
Sprint was the first of the three major U.S. carriers to start an unlimited plan and now T-Mobile joins the ranks by beating Sprint’s Simply everything plan with a $79 all you can eat plan that is $20 bucks cheaper than Sprint best. And with new handsets like the Blackberry Bold, Nokia N900 and Android handsets coming soon, what is the reason not to sign up with a no-contract pricing and get some pretty good coverage with the number one rated customer service carrier?
Ladies and Gentleman, the cell phone pricing wars have officially begun!

What’s the deal with the smartphone unlimited data add-on? If you get the unlimited talk+text+web and you have a smartphone, do you still have to tack on smartphone unlimited data? If so, I call shenanigans on this whole deal.

Can someone explain how $140 a month for a basic family plan with unlimited web and texting and 750 minutes is a good deal?
For $10 less, Sprint offers the same thing but with 1500 minutes and any mobile anytime.
I fail to see how TMo is even close to that good of a deal. Looks pretty sucky to me. You only get a better rate if you pay full price for your phone. Who has the money to do that with smartphones?

Regards for this informative post. Often, the greatest answers originate from the websites you actually may not expect.
I am in a bit of pickle, I have had my iphone 3G for the past couple of years and it’s been fine. It’s my understanding that Apple has a new operating system coming out called OS 4 and it’s supposed to be adding some new features to the iphone. I actually just bought Verizon’s new HTC Incredible the HTC Incredible and it’s a truly great phone, way better than the Apple iphone, BUT I’m hearing that Apple is going to be coming out with a completely new iphone altogether, and it’s supposed to be really nice but no one has any ideas as to when and Apple isn’t saying a thing. Should I keep my HTC Incredible, that I have 30 days to test and return if I do not want to keep it, or should I return it, keep my current 3G and wait for the release of the new iPhone- tough to decide.
That is always the hardest part of buying a phone. We have posted leaked images, we’ve seen leaked specs, and we have seen iphoneOS 4. So I think by this point you already know mostly of what your getting. I would wait till the iPhone event atleast just to see. However, if you were talking about the HTC Evolution, I would say no need to wait because it has so many great unique features. Personally, I really like the HTC incredible.
yeah, I absolutely agree with you..
How do we use these for the iPad?
Use what? T-Mobile?
