T Mobile upgrades 3G speed, also reaches new customers

Today T-Mobile announced its 3G network is now up to 7.2Mbps throughout the United States. This is more than double the 3.2Mbps top speed on AT&T (which was supposed to roll out 7.2Mbps shortly after the 3GS was launched). Not only is T-Mobile now consistently providing the fastest 3G in the U.S., but it also has plans for 21Mbps in the near future. T-Mobile decided to give its customers a teaser before the big push to 21Mbps. The T-Mobile news doesn’t end there folks, T-Mobile also says that its 3G now covers over 200 million americans. Yes, that is only 30 million less than AT&T claims its 3G covers. If you recall AT&T has had a 3G network for a few years more than T-Mobile. So all of this good news at T-Mobile plus the Nexus One being launched today. T-Mobile is really taking their network serious and are not wasting any more time. They obviously don’t want to have the reputation that AT&T currently has with its 3G coverage. So can we expect AT&T to finally end their slogan as “The nations fastest 3G network” until they decide to upgrade?
