Clayton Morris of FoxNews.com claims to have spoken to a source inside Apple about their upcoming event. He said that there are 3 main products Apple will focus on at the event.
1. iLife 2010, Clayton says iLife 2010 is going to be introduced and discussed at the event. In itself this topic isn’t too exciting for the general consumer market but it is a product line Apple needs to keep evolving due to the lead that Microsoft has with its new 2010 office suite. There have also been rumors that iLife will have multi-touch support. This falls in line with a recent rumor Engadget spoke about that a multi-touch iMac may be on the horizon. Put all that together and you have something that is actually pretty interesting.
2. iPhone OS 4.0. We reported on this earlier but Clayton says that iPhone OS 4.0 is something we can expect to see at the event. He didn’t report about anything specific that has to do with the update except that they are calling it iPhone 4.There will not be a hardware announcement, but a demo of the upcoming software. This would be an update shown off ahead of schedule when compared to iPhone OS 3.0 but last year iPhone owners received iPhone 2.1 and 2.2 which brought new features. iPhone OS is still at 3.0.1. Any updates or news of updates is welcome for iPhone owners out there.
3. Last but not least we have the tablet. Still no word on if it is going to be called the iSlate, iTablet, iTouch, or whatever else you can think of. Actually he had no details about the device at all except for the fact that ‘a tablet device is coming’. So you can still hold your fantasies close to your heart because we haven’t received any details just yet.
So there you have it folks. We will continue to release whatever information we can get as it comes. This next week is going to be so exciting as the long-awaited tablet either is or is not announced.
