Rogers OTA gives HTC Magic owners Sense, here is how to remove it

So just a couple weeks ago Rogers sent out and OTA giving HTC Magic owners HTC’s Sense UI. Pretty impressive for those who were getting bored of stock Android 1.5 on their phones. The question is, do you want Sense UI? Some would die to have it, others not so much. Here in the United States I am sure many HTC MyTouch 3G owners are drooling over the fact that Rogers users are getting HTC’s Sense. 7 home screens, nicer icons, and a lot more interaction and a much more polished UI. So if you are unhappy with your HTC Sense update because it feels either too slow or too abnormal compared to stock Android. Here is a short how-to on removing Sense UI and changing back to the stock home screen.

Xperia X10 to arrive in Germany in April, USA when?

The Xperia X10 from Sony Ericcson seems to be the mystery device we have all seen and waited for, but never seems to get. It had its unveiling back in November 2009! Still no sign of a U.S. launch but we are hearing that it is supposed to launch elsewhere.

Nexus One coming to Sprint?

At the end of 2009 was the first time Sprint had one of the best, if not the best, smart phone line up of the big 4. It seems as though Sprint is looking to keep that trend. There was a leak of a Wal-Mart support page for a CDMA version of the Nexus One a few weeks back. Now we have Sprint responding to a customer’s question regarding the Nexus One:

“Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the nexus one.

Unfortunately, this handset model is not on offer as of now.

Once it is launched, you will see promotional campaigns related to the launch date, cost and the features of the handset on our Web site and other promotional media.

Thank you for showing interest in our products & services. Please let us know if you would like us to assist you with anything else.”

The HTC Hero, Palm Pre, Palm Pixi, Samsung Moment, Black Berry Tour, Touch Pro 2, and now the Nexus One? Short of the iPhone, Sprint has every great smart phone available. We know that the Nexus One is coming to Verizon in the Spring with a CDMA radio making the phone an eligible proponent of Sprint’s CDMA network. Keep your fingers crossed for those of you that want Google’s first self branded device on Sprint.

What you do you get when you cross Palm’s Pre and Android?

What you do you get when you cross Palm’s Pre and Android?  The Model OT-980. You can do a mash of a Pre-esque like device, running Android, albeit not a very pretty phone in the end.

The touchscreen slider is packing a 600Mhz CPU, 802.11 b/g, EDGE, 3G, GPS, Magnetometer (Compass), 2 megapixel camera, accelerometer, the MicroUSB of microSD, a 3.5 mm jack and a battery of 1150 mAh. The screen is resistive, and as Frandroid states, “I was pleasantly surprised by his reaction, I took almost two minutes to find that it was not capacitive. This proves that this technology can be effective when properly optimized.” Plans are to release this phone in the lower end of the pricing spectrum to give a really competitive advantage and show phone buyers that there are options for low end handsets, that still have plenty of options.

Samsung Produces World’s First AMOLED With Touch Function

On January 31, 2010, it was announced that Samsung Mobile Display will begin mass producing the world’s first touch function AMOLED panel starting in March. This product is known as Samsung’s 3.3 inch WVGA (480X800) resolution AMOLED.

Its characteristics include a touch screen component and a simple manufacturing process. Until now, touch screen products were made by separately connecting the display and the touch panel. However, Samsung placed a touch sensor (on-cell) over the mirror display and made it evaporate. The touch sensor’s thickness is 0.001 mm, which allows the screen to provide clear, high-quality images. This marks the first time that a touch sensor was placed over an AMOLED substrate.

A company representative stated, “Through mass production, we want to make this touch embedded AMOLED panel number one in the LCD and AMOLED market. Also, we want to mass produce touch screens and construct a system so that we can expand the display market.”

Verizon releases two new Palm ads

Not exactly sure as to why Verizon’s ad group came up with this concept for these two commercials. Although they are both slightly humorous, there is a lot left to be desired when viewing these commercials. Your thoughts?
