Target to sell iPad starting October 3rd

Target has announced that it will start selling the Apple iPad October 3rd. Target will carry all 16, 32, and 64 gigabyte models in the WiFi and WiFi+3G versions. Now your probably saying, so what, another store to carry the iPad? Target is going to be a 5% discount on the purchase for an iPad when using there Target credit card. Most employees don’t even get discounts on Apple products and now they are giving the discount to the customer! Keep in mind the discount does not start until October 17th. Pretty big move by Target and I can see that helping them sell a lot while putting customers in credit card debt right for the holiday season. Anyone thinking about getting there credit card for that discount?

Is this the Blackberry Storm 3?

Many people try to forget the Blackberry Storm series but to me I always encourage users to try them. I had a Storm and Storm2 (on AT&T) and I never complained, I loved the big screen and Surepress took some getting used to but I became a pro at it. We don’t know where RIM is heading with the series but todays brings us a look at the possible future of the device. BerryReview received what looks to be an actual Storm 3. You can see the Trackpad in the middle but the look of it looks just like the Storm2. They also say the device will have a 3.7 inch display and 8gb internal memory as well as having a Hotspot feature built in. I am liking the look of this but why have a trackpad when the whole screen is a touchscreen itself? We can all say RIM makes some weird design choices.

30 “NFL cities” to get Verizon LTE by end of this year

According to eWeek, Verizon speaking to IT Managers informed them that they will launch LTE in 30 “National Football League” cities by the end of 2010. Verizon did not specify which cities they are referring to, they only said major metropolitan areas. Another tidbit was Bernie McMonagle, a Verizon senior federal sales executive, mentioning that the rest of the United States will receive LTE in stages until the whole country is covered in 2013. Unfortunately, there was no mention of any Verizon LTE devices launching by the end of this year to go with it, that most likely will not happen until next year. I actually live in East Rutherford, home of the new Giants/Jets Stadium, so I hope that this is one of the cities getting LTE because then I would definitely consider moving over to Verizon for 4G.

HTC Sense for Windows Phone 7 leaked?

An interesting video was making the rounds for a couple minutes publicley then became a private video and then the user deleted it. Lucklily MobilityDigest downloaded it before that happened. The video is supposedly HTC’s own Sense UI for Windows Phone 7. The only thing that puzzles me is that if you watch the video it is not a skin on top of WIndows Phone 7, it looks it is adding more tiles to the main screen itself. I am not saying the widgets are bad though, because look at the weather app. I love the radar going on in the back as well as the rain animation. The note app looks real good as well. The video has not been confirmed by HTC or Microsoft so it is up in the air if it is real or fake. I am sure HTC will want to add its own spice to their Windows Phones so I can not see this being fake. I am hoping it is real because I would love to add these tiles to when I get my Windows Phone.

Thinking about getting a Pre or Pixi? Hows the price of FREE sound?

Now this is a deal you should think about taking. HP and Palm have teamed up to offer all WebOS phones on every carrier for free! Whether your upgrading, adding a line, or getting a new line on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon it does not matter! I do wish I qualified for an upgrade because WebOS is still the only OS I have not played with or owned and the only thing I here about it is good things. Especially with WebOS 2.0 features announced earlier this week, I am sure they will get it on both phones as soon as they can. If your on the fence about WebOS, this should sweeten the deal. Remember it ends midnight Thursday so don’t wait too long!

Find the deal here!

T-Mobile G2 will have Android 2.2 and only 800Mhz processor

T-Mobile keeps giving out piece by piece information on the G2 and today they have revealed a few specs about the device. When you purchase the G2 it will be running Android 2.2 vanilla (as seen by the pic, no Sense) and be Flash 10.1 ready. Another tidbit is that the device has a 800MHz processor inside, down from other Android devices running 1Ghz and upwards. I have seen disappointment all over about this but we should not give up hope, maybe the G2 will be optimized to use all of the processing power, but still makes you wonder why they chose to go with it. Pricing and availability is still up in the air but we can an expect an announcement soon I’m sure.

HTC Windows Phone 7 device with slide out…speaker?

It seems like everyday we get a new Windows Phone 7 device to look at. Today we see a preview of HTC’s Windows Phone 7 device, no codename, only know as T8788. It will be coming to AT&T and I was really excited when I saw this device because HTC makes great looking devices and when I saw the picture of slide out, I thought their would be more, but the slide out is only a speaker, yes a speaker. I hope we see more of this T8788 and the reason for having a slider out speaker. Hopefully HTC is making a twin with a QWERTY! As you can see Microsoft is taking a different design approach to Windows Phone 7 with designs ranging from normal to irregular, but hey, I am still excited to get my hands on any device and Windows Phone 7.
