Sprint users no longer have to purchase the EVO 4G dressed up in white from Best Buy any longer. Sprint is beginning to receive these White EVO 4G handsets in corporate stores. So what are you waiting for? Go get your EVO 4G action on!

Looks like HTC just filed for a trademark with the name “HTC EVO Shift 4G.” This is possibly a shift in two directions: 1) HTC is going into the mid market 2) this is nothing but a slider version of the EVO 4G, which would win a few hearts for sure.

According to a Tweet on Twitter, Sprint is going to be lighting up the L.A., California scene with 4G on December 1st. In addition, I am able to personally confirm that Sprint is indeed testing 4G in Sacramento, California as well. From what I have been seeing on speed tests lately, Sprint has a huge advantage over Verizon at this point with it’s WiMax speedy service. So brace yourselves L.A., you are about to get some serious data speeds on your 4G enabled Epic or Evo handset.

If you have an Android phone that you want rooted, and you have Microsoft Windows, then chances are that you’re in luck! A new Windows application roots all, but seven, Android phones with a single click (To include the Captivate). Granted there was Universal Androot, but Google is already patching the exploit which Universal Androot uses to root a device.
I suppose it’s a moot point though, since SuperOneClick roots all but seven devices and 6 (EVO, Incredible, Desire, Aria, Eris, and Wildfire) of those can still be rooted through unrevoked. Read more of this post

The guys over at XDA dev forums have cooked up another Ava ROm version FroyoV4. According to the site, any older versions should be wiped clean coming from anything, including V3 – this is ensure you have the best experience and smoothest running version possible.
In this Ava FroyoV4 you will find the following feature-set:
-Very stable
-much smoother and faster
-increased heap size for better real life performance
-the real froyo
-EQ enhancements including HE-AAC v1+2 original codecs.
-blue expresso -thank you flipz for the ORIGINAL expresso months and months ago
-fixed every single issue the was reported to me.
-4G scan time lowered and reports from testers that it is alot better. i cant verify as i live on farm. no 4G till approx. 2033
-NO BOOT SOUND
-all goodies every other rom has.
-everything has been optimized from the beginning

It was true! I know this is so hard to believe because Sense UI has a reputation of late updates, but would you look at that. The Android 2.2 update is beginning to land on devices. According to Engadget, they recently received a handful of tips stating that Android 2.2 has began hitting some of their readers handsets. We haven’t gotten the official OTA on ours yet, but we will definitely shoot up some video once we do. If you have yours already, let us know what you think!

Got a Sprint HTC EVO 4G? Been waiting for Android 2.2? You don’t need to wait any further. If you don’t mind performing a self-install, you can head on over to the update link, download the latest version HTC’s and drop this puppy on your phone.
Instructions a relatively simple (I’m doing this as I post): drop the .zip file to the root directory on your SD card.
[Update] Looks like Android police and HTC for that matter are getting a ton of hits. Just keep trying and they should be back up in no time. I also posted a link for the file I just uploaded. This was direct from the HTC url I grabbed before the servers crashed.
